Star Party

We will have a star party after the banquet Saturday evening. Dealers Starizona and Stellar Vision will bring some of their telsscopes. Local amateurs are encouraged to bring theirs also. Each 'scope will be trained on, and tracking different objects. You simply wander from scope to scope and listen to the operator describe what you're seeing.

Ask comet hunter Carolyn Shoemaker about her routines for discovering comets. Discuss techniques with famous astrophotographers. There will also be many professional astronomers there, each with their own field of interest.

There will be a very young crescent moon, which will set behind the mountains about 7:30 PM, so we should have good, dark skies.
